Transistor

A transistor is a semiconductor device used to amplify or switch electronic signals and electrical power. It is composed of semiconductor material usually with at least three terminals for connection to an external circuit. A voltage or current applied to one pair of the transistor's terminals controls the current through another pair of terminals. Because the controlled (output) power can be higher than the controlling (input) power, a transistor can amplify a signal. Today, some transistors are packaged individually, but many more are found embedded in integrated circuits.

3 Easy Transistor Projects For Beginners

“In this instructables I will be making 3 Easy Projects using Transistors and some components and Battery. These are really easy projects that you can do for school project and can be constructed on breadboard and need NO Soldering!. The …

Transistors 101

“At their core, transistors amplify power. Note that: power. You can use a transformer to amplify either current or voltage, but you have to trade off the other. i.e. you can get more voltage but at a lower current …

Transistor logic clock MkII

“This clock has been designed so that you can take it apart and see how each section works from the power supply up and you can watch the numbers travel through the boards. There are 283 transistors in this clock …

MoS2 transistor that can be used with bendable OLED displays

“A team of researchers from Yonsei University, and Chung-Ang University, both in Korea, has developed a MoS2 transistor that can be used with bendable OLED displays. In their paper published on the open access site Science Advances, the group explains …

The PNP Transistor: Characteristics and Applications

“This article helps you understand what PNP transistors are, how they’re used, and why they’re less common than NPN transistors. You are probably well aware that modern electrical engineering, and in fact the entire modern world, is inextricably …

Handbook of Transistor Circuits

“This handbook describes in detail a wide range of electronic circuits designed around that tiny but versatile modern device, the transistor. The arrangements described have a great variety of practical uses. Some of these circuits derive their power solely from …

Transistor AF and RF Circuits

“The use of semiconductors in electronic circuits has, and still is, growing at a rapid rate. Experimenters and hobbyists are continuously looking for transistor circuits to construct. This book is a compilation of many r -f and audio circuits using …

Transistor Circuit Manual

“With the rapid development in the field of transistors and semiconductors, a great need has arisen among engineers, technicians, and experimenters for data on circuit design and operation. The major sources for this data, until now, have been the semiconductor …

Eleven Tested Transistor Circuits using Prefabricated Circuit Units

“The recent introduction of pre-assembled transistor units on the home constructor market has prompted me to devote this issue of the transistor circuits manual to their application in several different projects. The units are made by Gorier in Germany and …

Moderm Transistor Circuits for Beginners

“About a dozen different types of component are used in the circuits contained in this book and in other transistor circuits. Each type of component has its own symbol and the meaning of these svmbols must be understood before a …
