Irrigation

Irrigation is the application of controlled amounts of water to plants at needed intervals. Irrigation helps to grow agricultural crops, maintain landscapes, and revegetate disturbed soils in dry areas and during periods of less than average rainfall. Irrigation also has other uses in crop production, including frost protection, suppressing weed growth in grain fields and preventing soil consolidation. In contrast, agriculture that relies only on direct rainfall is referred to as rain-fed. Irrigation systems are also used for cooling livestock, dust suppression, disposal of sewage, and in mining. Irrigation is often studied together with drainage, which is the removal of surface and sub-surface water from a given area.

IoT Based Smart Irrigation System Using Soil Moisture Sensor and ESP8266 NodeMCU

“The Smart irrigation System has wide scope to automate the complete irrigation system. Here we are building a IoT based Irrigation System using ESP8266 NodeMCU Module and DHT11 Sensor. It will not only automatically irrigate the water based on the …

Circulating Self Watering Vertical Planter

“This is a collaboration with my son, who isn’t old enough to have his own instructables account. He had the original idea of a vertical planter system with circulating water. His initial plan was to circulate the water through …

How to Make Automatic Irrigation System Using Arduino

“In this Instructables, I will show you how to build and implement an automatic irrigation system which can sense the water content in the soil and automatically irrigate your garden. This system can be programmed for different crop requirements and …

Stroboscopic Fountain

“For our SIDE project, a year long project that we do for Ms. Berbawy’s Principles of Engineering class, we decided to make a stroboscopic fountain. The stroboscopic effect, pioneered by Harold Edgerton, makes objects appear as though they are …

Project  ERrigator

ERrigator

“What is eRrigatoreRrigator is what it sounds like. It’s an internet connected irrigation controller. HW costs are less than $40 and probably could be pushed down to about $30. It supports up to 6 stations, but more can be …
