Hello, this project will help you construct your own janky cyberpunk anti-facial recognition headset. This was inspired in part by many news stories of the last year about facial recognition that only reminds us about our impending dystopian future. Made for a school assignment, ASH is mostly a demonstration of several attempts at prototyping a facial recognition headset that by using LEDs can obscure the wearers face with the push of a button.

Supplies:
Here are some supplies you’ll need:

1 large servo.
a metal servo arm used in hobbyist RC vehicles.
circuit playground and cricket.
metal brackets. Not sure on the name of these but they were found in the metal bracket section at ACE. used for wood.
welding headgear. welding masks from amazon with the face removed works well
acrylic. 1/8 inch thick.
LEDs — IR will be the best option but a combination of the two will help with masking under both IRL and digital camera feeds.
3xAA batteries
3D brackets that I will provide here
battery pack
and some room for experimentation”
