SAA1099 is a sound generator used in SAM COUPE computers. All technical parameters and detailed information can be found in the following documentation. In SAM COUPE, the SAA1099 chip is controlled only by writing to port #FF (255) and # 1FF (511). This audio circuit can be easily connected to the ZX Specter. Port #xxFF is normally unused on ZX Spectra, and SAA is write-only, so it doesn't interfere with anything. Musical gates from SAM COUPE can be used on ZX Spectra without modification. Currently the TURBO-SOUND EASY audio interface for ZX Spectrum is being prepared, which will contain 2xAY + 1xSAA1099.
