A man paralyzed from the neck down for six years now can use his hand to pour liquids and hold a phone, just by thinking about it. The increasingly complex movements by 24-year-old Ian Burkhart, using new technology, provide the first tangible hope for people with paralysis, Ohio State doctors say. The clinical trial at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center was detailed in a study published online April 13 in the journal Nature.”
