Content for Pressure Sensor

Pressure Sensor

A pressure sensor is a device for pressure measurement of gases or liquids. Pressure is an expression of the force required to stop a fluid from expanding, and is usually stated in terms of force per unit area. A pressure sensor usually acts as a transducer; it generates a signal as a function of the pressure imposed. For the purposes of this article, such a signal is electrical. Pressure sensors are used for control and monitoring in thousands of everyday applications. Pressure sensors can also be used to indirectly measure other variables such as fluid/gas flow, speed, water level, and altitude. Pressure sensors can alternatively be called pressure transducers, pressure transmitters, pressure senders, pressure indicators, piezometers and manometers, among other names. Pressure sensors can vary drastically in technology, design, performance, application suitability and cost. A conservative estimate would be that there may be over 50 technologies and at least 300 companies making pressure sensors worldwide.

The Future of Water Management: Smart Water Meters

“We started with the idea of creating an interactive demo for fairs and it turned into one of the best side projects - the Bubblemaker! We tried to create an engaging demo-game for events which should show the example of what …

Arduino Breath Controller for Cheap (USB-MIDI)

“Introduction In this project we will build a simple USB MIDI plug-and-play breath controller. It is designed using easy to find cheap components so that the total cost remains affordable and well below commercial equivalents. This is the basic version …

3D Printed Spirometer

“Spirometers are the classical instrument to perform the parsing of air as it is blown out of your mouth. They consist of a tube that you blow into that records the volume and speed of one breath which are then …

Arduino Car Counter

“A low-power Arduino car counter that works by logging each time a car drives over a rubber tube across the road. While talking about electronics at work, my colleague metnioned a car counter he’d bought for a large sum …

Arduino Weathercloud Weather Station

“I made a weather station connected to internet. It measures temperature, humidity, pressure, rainfall, UV index and it calculates few more important meteorological values. It then sends this data to weathercloud.net, which has nice graphics and UX. It also …

DIY Submersible ROV

“How hard could it be? It turns out that there were several challenges to making a submersible ROV. But it was a fun project and I think it was quite successful. My goal was to have it not cost a …

Arduino Latency Measurement Toolkit

“In this Instructable we will show you how to do simple input latency measurements with an Arduino. This instructable is part of a final project of the lecture Designing Interactive Systems 2 from the Media Computing Group at the RWTH …

DIY standalone Weather Station powered by Arduino

“The idea of Building a community weather station using Open hardware Kicked a long back. We people from a local DIY community build this weather station. In our country we don’t give importance to weather data apart from the …

Low Cost Spirometer

“This is a project I completed for a biomedical instrumentation class at Vanderbilt University. This spirometer uses a pressure transducer and an Arduino Uno to compute the volume of air blown through the plastic tube. The circuitry is very basic- …
